Bio

My name is Erik Kaufman and I am from Scotch Plains, New Jersey. I am 18 years old living in Providence, Rhode Island. I lived in New Jersey my whole life until I moved to Johnson and Wales University in Providence to pursue an education in CAD Engineering/Product Design. I took classes all 4 years of high school relating to CAD careers and Product Design. I had an amazing teacher that inspired me to pursue this interest. My father is a technology executive, so I have always been raised to be technologically prepared and with an interest in doing some amazing things with technology in the future. My brother is also a math teacher at a high school in New Jersey, so math has been in my blood. I am excited to learn all that I can at Johnson and Wales and get an internship to jump start my career in CAD Engineering.

Besides my interest in technology, I love to eat food. Some of my favorites are sushi and mac-and-cheese. If I get the opportunity, I would love to take a class at Johnson and Wales in cooking, since it is one of the best schools in the country for that major. I have also played baseball since I was 5 years old and I plan to try-out for the baseball team at Johnson and Wales, as I am a freshman there. I played on my high school team for all 4 years and have played on club teams since I was 12. I am a right-handed pitcher and have been very effective on all my teams in getting outs and throwing strikes. I am also a huge fan of many musical genres. I love making playlists for everything and my favorite artists (in completely different genres...) are Billy Joel and Travis Scott. I plan on attending the new Astroworld tour with Travis Scott in Boston in December of this year. In all, I am a person who enjoys a variety of different things, especially sports and technology.
